Located in the small, thriving Upper Hunter town of Denman, St Joseph's Primary School offers quality Catholic education for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 from the areas of Denman, Martindale, Sandy Hollow, Bureen and Jerrys Plains. St Joseph's is an open and caring community where social justice, honesty, compassion and love are nurtured and valued. St Joseph's Primary School, Denman is a systemic school in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle offering a holistic education for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
At St Joseph's, we promote academic excellence in a supportive and safe environment and provide quality, positive and real education for students so they can achieve their full individual potential. Students are encouraged to pursue excellence in all fields of school life and to extend their learning through experiences such as the Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition, ICAS Assessments, Science and Engineering Challenge, National Science Week, Literacy and Numeracy Week, public speaking, debating and the Regional Spelling and Maths Bees.
St Joseph’s offers a range of internal and external sporting opportunities at local, diocesan and state levels including golf, cricket, netball, tennis, rugby league, soccer, touch football, cross country, swimming, athletics and horse sports. St Joseph’s also actively participates in sport gala days across the Upper Hunter and receives specialised coaching from sporting bodies within the school.
